Has Iraq become a fertile soil for Islamic jihadist movements? Is there coordination between these movements and al-Qa'ida network?

The answers to these questions are found the following:

First: A historical background of the Islamic movements in Iraq's Kurdistan. Second: What is the Ansar al-Islam group, and when and how did it emerge? Third: What is the Ansar al-Sunnah Army, and when and how did it emerge? Fourth: Abu-Mus'ab al-Zarqawi's relationship with Al-Qa'ida and the events in Iraq. Fifth: The statements of Abu-Hafs Brigades and their credibility.

This website is a tribute to Why War?, one of the nation's first and most innovative post-9/11 student antiwar organizations. Born on October 22, 2001 at Swarthmore College, we were a handful of freshmen and sophmores who vocally opposed the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere. And now, seven years later, we are retiring this website as we focus our efforts on new directions. We hope that it continues to serve future activists and we remain confident that humanity is on the verge birthing a better world.
