Fighting Erupts in East Afghanistan Town

"Remnants of Taliban and al-Qaeda forces on Saturday attacked the main eastern Afghanistan town of Gardez, an Afghan minister said. The attack was staged on the day US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld visited Kabul and several hours after the Afghan capital's airport was hit by several rockets. There were no casualties in the airport attack."

Born on October 22, 2001 at Swarthmore College, we were a handful of freshmen and sophmores who vocally opposed the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere.
