Transcript: Saddam Husayn Denies Any Link to Al-Najaf Explosion

O ye who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, lest ye harm people unwittingly, and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done. (Koranic verse)

O great people; o lofty mujahidin, men and women: God's peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you.

Many of you might have heard the hissing of snakes, the servants of the infidel occupation invaders, who -- after the killing of Al-Hakim -- rushed to accuse, without any evidence, those they called the supporters of Saddam Husayn of the incident. I would like to comment on this as follows:

Saddam Husayn is not the leader of the minority or a group, with whom he is affiliated or who are affiliated with him. He is the leader of all the great Iraqi people -- Arabs and Kurds; Shiites and Sunnis; Muslims and non-Muslims. Saddam Husayn does not attribute this saying to himself. This is what was decided by the great Iraqi people themselves in free, public elections. The people pledged allegiance to Saddam Husayn as the president of the republic and leader of the people.

The aggression and the occupation of Iraqi cities might not have happened had Saddam Husayn represented a trend or a group of supporters only. The aggression took place because Zionism, representatives of the US and British policies, and those who followed them, with evil intentions, realized the fact that Saddam Husyan and his people are one. They also realized that everybody has decided to get rid of the interior and exterior causes of weakness -- inherited from the circumstances of the previous deterioration and foreign occupation -- and all illnesses that infected the community for the known reasons, and to hold on to and defend their human, religious, and national, and patriotic rights, and reject everything imposed on them from abroad as well as everything that contradicts the people's will, religion, rights, and the nation's immortal heritage. The aggression and occupation took place because the enemies realized that the determination to persist on this path is firm, the relevant preparations are serious and sound, and the foundation for this endeavor is real.

Therefore, the main goal decided by Saddam Husayn and his brothers in the leadership, and which he announced, repeated, and stressed, before and during the entry of the forces of occupation and aggression into Baghdad and after that and so far is to expel the enemy and the occupation forces from Iraq. Based on this, we have called, and we call on the people of Iraq, and we stress to them that they should not get busy with any target or path that leads to anything other than this goal or that negatively affects the central goal.

Those whom the United States termed as a follower authority rushed to level accusations before being definite. Did they do so in order to keep the charges away from those who actually did it? Or, did they base their accusation on the fact that the Iraqi people and all believers consider anyone who is a servant to the foreigner and in his control -- in a manner that facilitates the occupation and its presence -- to be not only the enemy of God and the homeland, but also the enemy of the people and the nation, and even the enemy of each one of them. Hence, anyone wishing to get closer to God must get rid of their evil, purify the land, and exonerate history from them.

The agents who hastened to level accusations should answer the people about the details of this accusation and about the truth of what they know. God knows what takes place and what is in people's hearts. In any case, when any obscure incident takes place and the loyal and faithful Iraqis view it as an erroneous action, it can be verified and unraveled through an honest investigation under the canopy of the national authority in the future, including carrying out an investigation in which the relevant party would participate in addition to those who represent the leadership and the authorities once the invader occupiers are expelled, which will happen soon, God willing. This is to avoid having any faithful Iraqi become preoccupied with something that the occupiers, aggressors, and their hirelings plan for. They plan to preoccupy the people with what would divert their attention from their main cause after they have failed to force Iraq, the Iraqis, and their leadership to surrender to what they and criminal Zionism and its odious entity that occupied Palestine have planned for.

Great Iraqis, lofty women: The aggression has failed, with the help of God. The occupation planned by the criminals is now in the eye of the storm, which has been decreed by God. This time will be their end through the will, heroic resistance, and great jihad of the Iraqis and their faithful brothers from the sons of our nation. Glorious heroes: Strengthen your faithful and brave blows against the foreign aggressors, from wherever they come and whatever their nationalities. Besiege the criminals who get involved and collaborate with the criminal and infidel foreigner and take measures against them that do not anger God and that are considered necessary for your protection and self-defense. Let your religion and Islamic Shari'a guide you.

Loftiness and glory to the martyrs; long live Iraq, long live Iraq. Long live our immortal nation and shame and curses upon Zionism. Long live Palestine, free and Arab from the ocean to the river. God is great. God is great, and accursed be the lowly.
