Recently, large-scale US forces are being forward deployed to South Korea and its surrounding region. According to reports, two US Marine warships recently made a port call in South Korea. The US forces will, in the future, reportedly establish a new naval base in South Korea's Pusan Port and deploy forces of aggression there. Ahead of this, the US forces newly deployed the newest-type Patriot-3 missiles in South Korea.
In time with this, the US nuclear submarine Santa Fe entered the US White Beach Naval Facility in Japan's Okinawa Prefecture. The US Navy announced that it will organize a new unit by integrating the Pacific Fleet's Patrol and Reconnaissance Force Command currently stationed in Hawaii and the Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing One Command. It also said that it will deploy this unit in Misawa Base in Japan's Aomori Prefecture. What is particularly dangerous is the fact that the US imperialists are trying to establish and deploy new expeditionary attack forces in the US base in Sasebo. Reportedly, the expeditionary attack forces will be organized with combat war vessels, such as Aegis warships loaded with Tomahawk cruise missiles, cruisers, and nuclear submarines, assigned to the assault landing unit. Sharp attention cannot but be drawn at the fact that the US imperialists' expeditionary attack forces will be settling in western Japan's Sasebo Port which overlooks the Korean land.
The US imperialists used Sasebo Port as one of the logistic, supply, relay, and launching bases for the US imperialists' 7th Fleet which conducted brigandish operations and actions against our people during the Korean war. They have been reviving those bases' functions by strengthening the maneuvers to prepare for a new Korean war during the past few years. It is needless to say that the deployment of US imperialists' expeditionary attack forces in Sasebo Port is one link of such maneuvers to prepare for a new Korean war.
The United States is trying to forward deploy even an aircraft carrier on the waters of the Korean peninsula. The commander of the US imperialists' 7th Fleet recently babbled that the US Navy is discussing the issue of transferring an aircraft carrier from the mainland and forward deploying them in Hawaii or Guam, in order to more rapidly cope with a crisis which can happen on the Korean peninsula and its surrounding region. The US paper Honolulu Advertiser wrote that the forces being deployed in Hawaii are forces for contingency on the Korean peninsula. The US imperialists' military moves which are becoming more and more restless are provoking our Republic and are evoking the utmost vigilance.

The United States is forward deploying US mobile strike forces in South Korea and its surrounding region. The purpose of this lies nowhere else: It is, first, to ultimately complete the preparations for a war of aggression against our Republic.
It is the US imperialists' unchanging ambition to provoke a new war of aggression against our Republic. Hence, the US imperialists are forward deploying vast amounts of attack forces in South Korea and its surrounding region. The US imperialist warmongers are trying to forward deploy countless mobile strike forces in South Korea and its surrounding region beforehand and then launch an unexpected military attack against our Republic by mobilizing them at any time.
According to Operations Plan 5027, Operations Plan 5030, and other plans, the US imperialists are trying to strike our Republic in case of a contingency on the Korean peninsula by mobilizing 5,000 guns, 60 combat warships, hundreds of fighters, countless missiles of various types, and the US imperialists' 7th Fleet and by thrusting 690,000-strong attack forces, including forces from Hawaii, Guam, mainland Japan and Okinawa, and the US mainland, as reinforcement forces. The fact that the US mobile strike forces are being forward deployed on large scales to South Korea and its surrounding region is in accordance with this.
The US forces' forward deployment maneuvers are also related to the aggressive strategy against Asia. The US paper Wall Street Journal recently carried an article written by US National Security Adviser and special presidential aide Rice regarding the United States' strategy toward Asia. In the article, while writing that US President Bush, who recently made a junket around various countries in Asia, particularly stressed the US strategy on Asia, Rice emphasized that the President sent a clear signal that the United States will continue to stay in Asia and that the center of the President's strategy on Asia is the forward deployment of strong US forces.
This implies that the United States will continue to promote the aggressive strategy toward Asia which opposes progressive Asian countries, including our Republic, and that it will attach importance to the strategy of forward deploying US mobile strike forces in the future in the course of implementing this strategy.
The strategic position and significance of the Asian region has become more significant in the new century with the 11 September incident and the Afghanistan war. Under such a condition, the big powers' struggle for domination of this region is becoming fierce, and the United States came to turn its head more powerfully toward implementing the strategy against Asia.
The base of the US strategy against Asia is deterrence of the expansion of other big powers' influence and strength in this region with force and the establishment of solely a US dominationist order. The United States is trying to back this up with powerful forward-deployed forces. The United States is attaching importance to Northeast Asia, particularly South Korea and Japan, and is trying to realize its dominationist ambition toward the Asian region by building powerful forward-deployed forces and using them.
Northeast Asia lies on a very important location from a military strategic point of view. Here lie Japan's militarist forces which are burning with the ambition of overseas invasion and also South Korea which is the US imperialists' aggressive military base and frontal defense region which is directly adjoined with the Asian continent. South Korea is the outpost for realizing the US imperialists' strategy against Asia and the forward deployment of aggressive forces serves as the military space for it (realizing the US imperialists' strategy against Asia). The US imperialists are trying to take control of our Republic by using South Korea as the frontal base for implementing the strategy against Asia, deter the big powers next, and, thus, establish domination over this region.
To achieve this, the US warmongers are spreading false public opinion by saying that our Republic is destabilizing the situation of the Northeast Asian region and the Korean peninsula. While babbling about our Republic's threat, they are saying that the US forces must continue to be forward deployed in the Northeast Asian region, such as Japan and South Korea, as an element of peace and security. This is a sophistry to conceal their aggressive purpose.
If we were to talk about instability of the situation of Northeast Asia and the Korean peninsula, it is being created by the United States.
The US imperialist military forces of aggression which are forward deployed in Japan and South Korea are not for deterring instability. Rather, they are for aggravating instability and tension and militarily attacking our Republic and other countries.
The United States is babbling about peace and detente on the Korean peninsula. However, its acts go completely against this. It is not throwing away its ambition to crush our Republic with force. The current situation demands that our Republic be ready for both dialogue and war. Our Republic will continue to more strongly make every preparation to cope with any condition and situation.
The world's peace-loving people are watching the US imperialists' dangerous maneuvers to forward deploy forces in the Asian region. The United States does not have any reason or excuse to forward deploy forces of aggression in South Korea and its surrounding region. If the United States truly wants peace and security in this region, it must immediately withdraw the forces of aggression which are forward deployed here.
